01.08.2008 - Labertal Festival, Schierling, Germany
Also playing: Mad Sin and others
Attendance: 100-200
Time: ca. 75 min

Encore 1: Invisible people
Encore 2: The drifter
Notes: This concert at a small festival in Bavaria kicks off August 2008, a record breaking month: Brotherhood performs nine shows during the course of the month, the maximum so far has been 8 shows per month in August 2007 and May 2008. Brotherhood plays around 20:00, right before headliners Mad Sin who get a partying crowd of 1.000 people.

02.08.2008 - Rock im Moor, Boberow, Germany
Also playing: Dyse, Mandala, Mumpel Murks und die Herrscherin der Galaxis, Psyfizz, Mash
Attendance: 300-500
Time: ca. 50 min
Set: Old tattoo, My flash on you, Gun or run, Cracker, Camera, Mind machine, Psychosis, You can only guess, All because of you, Dope idiots, Too much, Last song about you, Surrender
Encore: Invisible people
Notes:A small and sympathetic festival in the very north of Brandenburg. The band gets a cool slot this time around, taking the stage at 23:00. However, sandwiched between two very loud and distorted heavy outfits Brotherhood cannot compete with the volume and heavyness of the other bands which prevents that a real dance concerts unfolds. It's a fairly good show nevertheless including lots of dancing people on stage.

22.08.2008 - Voice of Art Festival, Hohenstein-Ernstthal, Germany
With: Driver, Dyse
Attendance: ca. 50
Time: ca. 75 min
Set: unknown
Notes: A small festival near Chemnitz. It’s raining cats and dogs which severely diminishes the size of the crowd. Just a few brave souls gather in front of the stage, altogether maybe 50 people witness the performance. The mood is fairly low and the brothers do not manage to get a party going. At one point they are so desperate and ironic about the whole situation that they start to rap during the intro to “You can only guess”. This joke would be repeated the next couple of gigs. Eventually a dance contest happens including the mandatory on-stage dancing.

With: The Cynics, The Maharajas, The Village Idiot, Pete Molinari and many more
Attendance: 500
Time: ca. 50 min
Set: unknown
Notes: This is the band’s first show in Denmark. Brotherhood is being carried on hands at this festival! Everyone loves them and the band delivers a breathtaking performance that blows everyone away, other bands and audience alike.
Consequently Gutter Island turns out to be a definite highlight of the 2008 festival season, right up there with Burg Herzberg.

30.09.2008 - BerlinMusicClash, Postbahnhof, Berlin, Germany
With: Cosma, Full Duplex, The Toten Crackhuren im Kofferraum, The Toulouse, Katze and many more
Attendance: ca. 200-300
Time: 5 min
Set: All Because of You, Gun or Run
Notes: This is the first time Berlin Music Clash is being held. The event attempts to be a “Grand Prix” of the 12 Berlin boroughs: 12 bands are being chosen to represent their own borough. Brotherhood represent Pankow (Prenzlauer Berg). The concert itself allows each band 8 minutes and 2 songs stage-time. It takes place at Postbahnhof, a 1.000 capacity club. The hall is only sparsely filled and the atmosphere is rather lame. Cosma, a German language Pop Rock band, wins for Treptow-Köpenick.

03.10.2008 - Sinkkasten, Frankfurt am Main, Germany

Supporting: Brian Auger’s Oblivion Express
Attendance: ca. 150
Time: 60 min
Set: Old tattoo, My flash on you, Gun or run, Mind machine, Cracker, You can only guess, Divine advice, Psychosis, All because of you, Dope idiots, Too much, Last song about you, Suck it, Surrender
Notes: With Chris on bass. Brotherhood supports organ-magician Brian Auger. The 500-capacity venue is sparsely filled with older big-belly guys who remain seated in the many chairs. The setting resembles a bit the Hendrix Tribute in 2007. When they take the stage Kiryk comments the atmosphere with "Hey, ist ja so still hier...". He tries to make the crowd come closer to the stage but alas to no avail. Later on he introduces "Dope idiots" by adressing the audience: "Wenn ihr euch angesprochen fühlt, dann könnt ihr tanzen!". This is a fairly unremarkable set apart from a guitar black-out in "All because of you" as well as a totally fucked up solo in "Too much"...ouch!!!

04.10.2008 - Moonshake Party, Dreikönigskeller, Frankfurt am Main, Germany

Supported by: The Heinz Tigers
Attendance: ca. 80
Time: ca. 60 min
Set: Old tattoo, My flash on you, Gun or run, Mind machine, Cracker, You can only guess, Divine advice, Psychosis, All because of you, Dope idiots, Too much, A thing called love, Last song about you, Suck it, Surrender
Notes: With Chris on bass. The second night of this two-night run in Frankfurt (a premiere outside of Berlin!) Brotherhood plays another Moonshake party. This is already their sixth show in Frankfurt am Main (all in 2008!), as well as their fourth appearance at a Moonshake-event. Dreikönigskeller is a very small basement venue with a maximum capacity of 80 people. The joint is very packed and a hot Dance Concert takes place. Nice and short improv-intro to "A thing called love" with Kiryk commenting "Wir haben gestern bei Brian Auger ein bisschen Jazz gelernt...".

15.10.2008 - Freddis, Lottstetten, Germany
Attendance: 20
Set: Lifetime, Old Tattoo, My Flash On You, Gun Or Run, Cracker, Camera, Mindmachine, Psychosis, You Can Only Guess, Divine Advice, All Because Of You, Dope Idiots, Too Much, Last Song About You, Surrender
Notes: The first show of the first proper tour in the band's history. The exact setlist is unconfirmed, they played "Lifetime" as opener and the "standard set". Just a very small crowd, no-one dances, no-one cheers, people stay in the back. A show better forgotten quickly...

16.10.2008 - Mojomatic, Montpellier, France
Supported by: The Mansfields
Attendance: 50
Time: 60 min
Set: Porno -> Old Tattoo, My Flash on You, Gun or Run, Mindmachine, Psychosis, Camera, Cracker, You Can Only Guess, Divine Advice, All Because of You, Dope Idiots, Too Much, Last Song About You, No Mercy on Ravers, Surrender
Encore: Invisible people
Notes: Leaving rainy Germany the next stop of the tour takes place in the south of France, where a mediterranean sun shines on palm trees and pines, the people are laid-back, the vibe is relaxed and the women still show naked legs in the mild night! You can't really ask for more in life so brothers and companions are happy! This show is Brotherhood's concert debut in France! Le Mojomatic is a nice rock and roll and garage club right in the center of Montpellier's extremely beautiful old city. The concert is part of a three-day mini festival held at the club and the admission is free. About 50 young and mixed people gather in the perfectly designed basement concert room and witness how the band explodes like a bomb with white hot energy once "Old tattoo" starts. The tempo is being doubled tonight and they simply go berserk and let it all out. The crowd reacts with loud cheering and wild dancing. A hot dance concert! On the setlist but not played: "Lifetime" (opener) and "Mind Garage".

17.10.2008 - Sidecar, Barcelona, Spain

Supported by: The Born Losers
Attendance: 120
Time: 60 min
Set: Porno -> Old Tattoo, My Flash on You, Gun or Run, Mindmachine, Psychosis, Camera, Cracker, You Can Only Guess, Divine Advice, All Because of You, Dope Idiots, Too Much, Surrender
Encore: No Mercy on Ravers, Last Song About You Invisible people
Notes: After one and a half year the band returns to Barcelona. As always the city is crowded and buzzing with tourists. Sidecar is located at Plaza Reial, just a few metres off Las Ramblas. The club resembles a bit Berlin's Magnet in shape, size and stage only it is way cooler! This is Born Loser's last show, the band is taking a hiatus of undefined duration. Just as the previous concert in Barcelona Danny did arrange and promote the gig. Brotherhood plays a very rocking gig fueled by hard dancing and partying people, some of them even pogo. The crowd in front of the stage is really packed and everyone is sweaty. A great gig!

18.10.2008 - Rockadelic, Playa de Gandia, Spain

Attendance: 20
Soundcheck: Gun or run jam, Divine advice, Camera
Time: 62 min
Set: Porno -> Old Tattoo, My Flash On You, Gun Or Run, Mindmachine, Camera, Psychosis, You Can Only Guess, Divine Advice, Lifetime, Dope Idiots, Cracker, Mind Garage, All Because Of You, Last Song About You, Too Much, Surrender
Encore: No Mercy On Ravers, Invisible People
Notes: Leaving the huge and busy Catalanien metropole Barcelona the tour is now headed down south along the coast to the province Valencia, about 400 km south of Barcelona. This Saturday show was originally scheduled to take place at a club called Matisse in the province capital Valencia but the club canceled the show just a few days prior of the date forcing the promoter to move the concert to another location. The new venue is located in Playa de Gandia, about 60 km south of Valencia on the coast, which is called Costa Blanca here. Gandia is the prototype Spanish holiday coast-city. With only 75.000 inhabitants the small city offers thousands of beds in hotels, appartments and hostels for tourists who enjoy the 200 meter wide perfect playa, one of Spain's most famous beaches. At this time of the year the holiday season is over though and Gandia feels a bit like a ghost-town with its empty hotels and appartment towers which line up along the endless beach. So, arriving in Gandia the crew of brothers and companions realizes it's very annoying to have a Saturday show moved from a big city to a small town like Gandia. Just 100 metres from the beach the Club Rockadelic is located. Rather newly opened (ca. 2 years ago) it's a fancy club where nothing is worn or used, everything looks very new. Expectedly only a handful of people show up which is an insufficient crowd to make it really feel comfortable in the fairly big club. However, the small crowd digs Brotherhood and gradually their dancing and cheering increases until the few people are rocking out very close to the stage giving really frantic applause for the encore. Consequently after the show they overrun the merch-booth. Despite a few fuck-ups by Kiryk this is an enjoyable show highlighted by a perfect reading of "Divine advice", the tour-debut of "Mind garage" as well as a psychedelic encore which ends in controlled noise as Kiryk scratches feedback out of his guitar, Erik pounds his organ and Lars beats some final drum-roles! The night ends in the very early morning hours with some innocent fun at the beach...

19.10.2008 - Sala Stereo, Alicante, Spain

Supported by: Provisional Rock Unit
Attendance: 30
Soundcheck: Gun or run (3x partial)
Time: 48 min
Set: Porno -> Old Tattoo, My Flash On You, Gun Or Run, Mindmachine, Camera, Cracker, Psychosis, You Can Only Guess, Divine Advice, Dope Idiots, All Because Of You, Last Song About You, Surrender
Encore: Suck It, Invisible People
Notes: The 300.000 inhabitants coast-city of Alicante in the province Valencia is the southest stop in the tour itinerary. Being in the south means it feels like spring in October: 24 degrees air temperature, a shining sun, blooming flowers and the warm sea create a relaxed summer feeling that takes over the crew's mood. Sala Stereo is a cool venue with a great stage and run by very nice people. Unfortunately the band faces a fairly lame Sunday audience. No dancing or loud cheering occurs but at least the small crowd stays until the show is finished and no-one talks during the set, everybody listens. The band performs their standard set in a professional manner, the energy is a bit contained tonight but still rocking. Highlights include a finely crafted "Mindmachine", another perfect version of "Divine advice", a psychedelic and noisy take on "Invisible people" as well as the tour-debut of "Suck it".

20.10.2008 - La Gramola, Orihuela, Spain

Attendance: 13
Soundcheck: Gun or Run jam, Camera, Divine Advice (all partial)
Time: 67 min
Set: Porno -> Old Tattoo, My Flash On You, Gun Or Run, Mindmachine, Camera, Psychosis, You Can Only Guess, Divine Advice, Cracker, Dope Idiots, All Because Of You, Mind Garage, Last Song About You, Too Much, No Mercy On Ravers, Surrender
Encore: Kicksville, Invisible People -> Jam
Notes: Leaving the coast the tour now heads right across the Iberic Peninsula. The next stop is just 60 km from Alicante in the town of Orihuela. La Gramola is your typical Rock & Roll bar, with countless of posters plastering the walls including copies of historic Fillmore posters, a little gallery and a little stage. Many bands from the garage and 60s genre have played this club when they were younger and smaller. Some actually still do because it's the perfect location to bridge an off-day or bad week-day with a small show. The joint has a capacity of about 100-150 people if totally packed. On this Monday night just 10 paying guests appear to the show. The band plays an engaged show anyway, feeding off the few people who dance and cheer, actually much more than the previous day's crowd. The band plays without a setlist. "All Because Of You" features a nice and slow little intro, similiar to the "Psychosis"-intros so often played in 2006. "Mind Garage" is a welcome treat of course and they actually jam their way into it with an open arrangement for about one or two minutes, very cool! The rare "Kicksville" as an encore-surprise features a lot of off-vocals but it's a delight anyway, although the band seems to treat the song a bit like an curiousity. During a smoking version of "Invisible People" Jan's bass drops out and the rest of the band has to enter jam-mode. Jan tries to fix the defect in vain so the band resumes the free form improvisation after about five minutes and the song stays unfinished.

21.10.2008 - Sala Arco, Alcázar de San Juan, Spain

Attendance: 40
Soundcheck: 3 new songs (instr.), Gun or Run, Camera, Divine advice (all partial)
Time: 65 min
Set: Porno -> Old Tattoo, My Flash On You, Gun Or Run, Mindmachine, Camera, Psychosis, All Because Of You, You Can Only Guess, Divine Advice, A Thing Called Love, Dope Idiots, Mind Garage, Too Much, Mimi's Tune, Last Song About You, Suck It, Surrender
Encore: Cracker, No Mercy On Ravers, Invisible People
Notes: Driving 300 km deep into the heart of the genuine Spain brothers and companions end up in the very small town of Alcázar de San Juan. Here in the province Castilia de la Mancha, which is Don Quixote's home, endless wine-fields and truck-stops line the road which stretches kilometers straight ahead through the plain country. Sala Arco is located on the outskirts of the town and its only neighbours are car mechanic facilities giving the location a distinct "From Dusk til Dawn"-type of feel. The venue is a remarkable place most notably due to its huge stage that would do a 1.500 capacity venue justice. The room in front of the stage holds maybe around 500 people. As in most venues during this tour some well known Garage bands have played here before, including The Fuzztones and The Movements. Brotherhood is being welcome with open arms at Sala Arcor, the club people's hospitality is overwhelming: Beer and wine are being dispensed in litres, the food is just to much and the right drugs are being offered in masses. About 40 people show up to the show. The crowd appears to be of a strange kind: The people in this little Tex Mex town are a bit older, reserved and they seem to like Hard Rock á la AC/DC. Brotherhood takes the giant stage and the setting is simply bizarre with so few people in such a big hall. The majority of the people remains on one side of the room where the bar is located. Understandably no-one dances and there is very little atmosphere. It's an exciting trip to watch the band in such a setting though - did I mention the giant stage yet? The lights are cool, the sound is fat and Kiryk has a lot of room to move between Erik and Jan. The standard set is spiced up with the tour debuts of "A Thing Called Love" and "Mimi". A way intoxicated and drunk night.

22.10.2008 - La Pequena Bety, Madrid, Spain

Attendance: 90
Soundcheck: Gun or Run, Camera, Divine Advice (all partial)
Time: 70 min
Set: Porno -> Old Tattoo, My Flash On You, Gun Or Run, Mindmachine, Camera, All Because Of You, Psychosis, You Can Only Guess, Divine Advice, Dope Idiots, Porno -> Too Much, Last Song About You, Mimi's Tune, Cracker, Mindgarage
Encore 1: Porno -> Surrender
Encore 2: Lifetime, Invisible People
Notes: Finally, after four pretty tepid shows regarding attendance numbers now a show in Madrid, Spain's biggest city. Despite this being a Wednesday a 90 people strong proper 60s crowd shows up, a remarkable number considering this is the band's first concert in the city. La Pequena Bety is Madrid's best 60s club. A restaurant upstairs serves Rock & Roll Food and the basement concert room is decorated with cool posters. While clearly into it the crowd is not as wild as the one in Barcelona though. They move only slightly and it takes them almost the whole set until "Cracker" until we see something that resembles dancing. The atmosphere is great and the applause is strong. Brotherhood plays a fresh set inspired by the good vibes of this cool night. Deservedly the crowd gets the rare "Lifetime" as well as the first double encore of the tour.

23.10.2008 - El Gran Café, León, Spain

Supported by: Hijos del Napalm
Attendance: 130
Soundcheck: Gun or Run, Camera, Divine Advice (all partial)
Time: 65 min
Set: Porno -> Old Tattoo, My Flash On You, Gun Or Run, Mindmachine, Camera, Psychosis, All Because Of You, You Can Only Guess, Divine Advice, Mimi's Tune, Cracker, Dope Idiots, Mind Garage, Too Much, Last Song About You, Surrender
Encore: No Mercy On Ravers, Invisible People
Notes: Halfway between Madrid and the green north the ancient town León is situated. The beautiful old city offers gothic mediaeval treasures, a majestic cathedral towering above the flat city being the highlight. The venue is very centrally located, right in the heart of El Barrio Humedo, just a two minute walk from the cathedral. El Gran Café looks like a cosy art-deco coffee house from the 1920s with dark wooden interiors and big windows to León's pedestrian zone. Tonight, the concert is part of a fiesta: A local comic shop celebrates its anniversary. There is a small buffet loaded with Spanish pies and three DJs spin 60s garage music. Pretty soon the joint is packed with a very sympathetic crowd and the atmosphere is familiar. The anticipating crowd is a healthy mix of normal and Sixties people and the average age seems to tend towards 30-35 years. The show turns out very good: We get a very loud and direct in-your-face version of the band and everywhere in the small café people swing, listen and cheer to the sound of the Brotherhood. The standard set is being performed engagedly with the psychedelic "Mindgarage" being a highlight, tonight Kiryk even engages the crowd in handclaps. A really hot show! Tonight the vinyl edition of the band's debut album officially sells out after excellent sales the night before in Madrid - one lucky guy gets the last copy!

24.10.2008 - El Balcón de la Lola, Bilbao, Basque Country, Spain

Supporting: Elliott Brood
Attendance: 80
Soundcheck: Gun or Run, Camera, Divine Advice (all partial)
Time: 50 min
Set: Porno -> Old Tattoo, My Flash On You, Gun Or Run, Mindmachine, Camera, Psychosis, You Can Only Guess, Divine Advice, All Because Of You, Dope Idiots, Cracker, Last Song About You, Too Much, Surrender
Notes: For the last two gigs the tour arrives in the Basque Country, a very special region with very special vibes. Bilbao is wild, exciting, beautiful and certainly unlike anything else brothers and companions have seen on this tour. El Balcón de la Lola turns out to be a hardcore gay nightclub. Before the gay party starts at 1 am they also host a concert series here. The club is only decorated with steel poles and pipes, everything is painted black - a very weird setting! A decent crowd appears to the show. More alternative and pretty diverse the crowd feels a bit like Kreuzberg. Since Brotherhood is a just a support band tonight they start rather early and play just an abbreviated set. Quite appropriate for the setting the crowd behaves cool and a bit reserved while following the show in an interested manner. After the shows are finished and the gays take over at Balcón de la Lola concert-promoters, musicians of both bands, girls and companions move on to two more bars where DJs spin 60s tunes and where the wild party would last until dawn...

25.10.2008 - Psilocybenea, Hondarribia, Basque Country, Spain

Supported by: Surfin Kaos
Attendance: 90
Soundcheck: Gun or Run, Camera, Divine Advice (all partial)
Time: 70 min
Set: Porno -> Old Tattoo, My Flash On You, Gun Or Run, Mindmachine, Cracker, Psychosis, Camera, You Can Only Guess, Divine Advice, Dope Idiots, All Because Of You, Too Much, No Mercy On Ravers, Last Song About You, Surrender
Encore 1: Mindgarage, Invisible People
Encore 2: A Thing Called Love, Mimis Tune
Notes: The last show of the tour! The very small coast town of Hondarribia is just 3 km from the French border. The club is a newly built ensemble that combines concert venue, rehearsal rooms and recording studios supported with money by the community. This is just the third concert which takes place at this nice venue! A solid crowd of 80-90 people shows up on this Saturday night. These are no 60s people but rather young folks and rock dudes, the mix reminds a bit on festival crowds. Once the show starts with the classic "Old Tattoo" the crowd starts to rock out and move like very few crowds during this tour, only rivaled by Montpellier and Barcelona. At the very beginning Kiryk faces some strange guitar problems and during "Cracker" his instrument totally blacks out in the very moment when he was about to launch his solo. While he changes guitar the rest of the band continues with an up-tempo organ solo for about a minute until Kiryk is back and picks up playing right where he got interrupted. "No Mercy" is being moved from the encore spot to the middle of the set and it makes for a nice change. This being the grande finale and the people rocking out really hard they deserve a second encore as well as the trademark dance contest: Kiryk and Erik ask the crowd to come up on stage for the final party and to share their drugs with them. Half a dozen guys do so and jump and dance around, even trying to stage-dive. A wild party indeed and the crowd acknowledges the wild action with more dancing and cheers. A worthy last show before the brothers head home the next morning with a 1.700 km car ride back to Berlin that rounds up 6.000 road kilometres and the very first tour in Brotherhood's history. A unique experience...

15.11.2008 - Absturz, Leipzig, Germany
Attendance: 80
Set: could have been like this: Porno -> Old Tattoo, Upside Down, Psychosis, Mind Machine, Gun Or Run, All Because Of You, Mr. Time, Divine Advice, You Can Only Guess, Save Me Save You, Cracker, Dope Idiots, Mind Garage, Too Much, My Flash On You, Last Song About You, Suck it, Mimi's Tune, Surrender
Encore: No Mercy On Ravers, Invisible People
Notes: This is not the actual setlist, rather just a guess, correct running order unknown! The three new songs debuted the previous night are being played for the second time! This show is already the band's third concert at Absturz and the fifth show in Leipzig. The crowd is considerably smaller compared to previous shows at Absturz because this is Brotherhood's first headlining performance without being supported by a local band or a special event. The audience appears pretty late, many of them arrive during the show which prevents that a true dance concert unfolds early in the show, the mood only peaks during the last couple of numbers.

05.12.2008 - Bödi 9, Berlin, Germany
Attendance: ca. 40-50
Time: 70 min
Set: Porno -> Old Tattoo, Gun Or Run, Upside Down, Camera, Mindmachine, Psychosis, You Can Only Guess, Divine Advice, A Thing Called Love, Too Much, All Because Of You, My Flash On You, Mr. Time, Dope Idiots, Last Song About You, Save Me Save You, Cracker, Mindgarage, Surrender
Encore: Mimi's Tune, Invisible People
Notes: Bödi 9 is a so called house project in an ex-squat in Bödeckerstraße, Friedrichshain. A close friend of Kiryk and Erik lives here that's why the band is invited to play the annual solidarity party. The house is simply packed to the rafters with crazy, alternative and freaked out party people giving the party a distinct  Berlin-in-the-90s-feeling! From the ground to the top floor the stairs are packed and jammed with people and everywhere it seems is music and DJs. It feels so good to feel the underground again! The band plays in a regular one-bedroom apartment on the second floor. The wall between the very small 2x2 meter kitchen and the 20 square meter living room has been removed and the band uses the kitchen as "stage". The bass box is placed on the sink and Lars leans agains the oven. The room is jam-packed making it impossible to get in once the band has started. The show turns out to be a really wild and sweaty affair with the band giving ALL. One can see by Lars' smiles that this is REALLY fun. The first row of people, including the author, are VERY close to the band, so close they have to pay attention to not get hit against the head by the guitar-neck! Far out! Everyone freaks out! A brilliant show allowing attendees to grasp the essence of the Brotherhood, very much similiar to Beat Club 12.06.2008. One of the best shows to attend in 2008! The band would play the annual party again in 2009. On the setlist but not played: "Suck It" and "No Mercy".
